HON. ETORNAM JAMES FLOLU
Ghanaian entrepreneur and politician. He was appointed as the DCE of the Afadzato South District Assembly by His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo, president of Ghana. He is also the man to lead the NPP into the 2020 elections as the MP for the Afadzato South constituency.
He has a BA from the University of Ghana, Legon in Political Science and Information Studies. He is also an alumnus of St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a strong believer in local development and national growth through tourism and technology.

THE DISTRICT PROFILE
The Afadzato District is one of the 46 administrative districts created in 2012 with its capital at Ve-Golokuati, about 58km from Ho, 20km from Hohoe, and 200km from Accra. The District was carved out of Hohoe Municipality and legally backed and governed by two main Acts namely; the Local Government Act, Act 936 of 2016, and PNDCL 327.
The District was established by Legislative Instrument 2079 and inaugurated on 28th June 2012. The District shares boundaries with the Republic of Togo to the East and Ho West District on the southeast. The southwest of the District shares a common boundary with South Dayi District; while the northern section is Hohoe Municipal and the northwest is Kpando Municipal and North Dayi District. The total land area of the District is 553.0 square Kilometres about 3.06 % total land size of the Volta Region. Moreover, the location of the district has the potential to boost both local and foreign trade
HISTORY OF AFADZATO
Afadzato South District is endowed with resources. It also boasts of fertile lands and land banks which are accessible for agriculture. The district was established by legislative Instrument (LI 2079) and inaugurated on 28th June 2012. Its district capital is VE-Golokuati.
The district capital and other major towns are linked to Accra, the nation’s capital by the Eastern Corridor road with an average travel time of three and a half hours (3 ½hrs).
The Afadzato South District has tourist attractions that draw thousands of tourists from across the globe and also afford the business community to provide sales, rentals, and services in the hospitality sector. The district’s current projected population is 117,258 with 59,590 females representing 51.3% and 57,668 males constituting 48.7%. It is estimated that the district grows at an annual rate of 2.5%.
